Every floor we install is site-finished — sanded, stained, and sealed on-site for unlimited color options, seamless board-to-board transitions, and a truly custom result. Pick your texture, pick your species, pick your sheen.
Smooth Site-Finished
The most refined option. Sanded meticulously flat on-site, then stained and sealed for a perfectly smooth, seamless surface — no beveled edges, no v-grooves, nothing to catch dirt or trap dust.
Hand-Scraped
Old-world character, applied by hand. Light or deep scrapes, your call — creates a textured, aged, worn appearance that hides scratches and dents because it already looks lived-in.
Circle, Band & Skip Sawn
The natural saw marks left by the mill — circular, straight band, or partially-smoothed skip-sawn. Often milled from local Fir and Larch. Rugged, regional, and authentic to the Inland Northwest.
Wire-Brushed
The soft grain is brushed out to leave the hard summer-wood raised. The result is a tactile, rich, almost three-dimensional grain pattern. Works beautifully on Red Oak, White Oak, Ash, Elm, Douglas Fir, and Hickory.
Cerused
A contrasting paste worked into the open grain — leaving the grain valleys glowing pale against the darker wood. Old-world meets modern. Transforms even the simplest oak floor into something dramatic.

Site-finished floors allow complete control over color, sheen, and character. Unlike prefinished planks where beveled edges collect dirt and create visual lines, site-finished floors are sanded flat after installation — creating one continuous, seamless surface that looks and feels like a single piece of wood.
Installation FAQ
What is the difference between site-finished and prefinished hardwood?
Site-finished floors are sanded, stained, and sealed on-site after installation, giving you unlimited custom color options and a seamless appearance. Prefinished floors come with the finish already applied at the factory, meaning faster installation but more limited color choices.
How long does hardwood installation take?
Installation typically takes 2-5 days depending on square footage and complexity. Site-finished floors require additional time for sanding, staining, and sealing.
What wood species do you recommend?
Oak remains the most popular choice for its durability and grain character. Hickory is excellent for high-traffic areas. Maple offers a cleaner, more contemporary look. We'll recommend the best species based on your lifestyle and aesthetic preferences.
Do you install engineered hardwood?
Yes. Engineered hardwood is an excellent option for areas with concrete subfloors or where moisture stability is a concern. We install all types of engineered hardwood flooring.
